Types of Learning
Chapter One - Page 22
Greetings friends of The Zones of Atlas!
I’m deep into the editing cave right now, and apologize for late responses here on Substack and with email. I’ve recently developed a four-day-rule, and do my best to respond within four days.
We’ll see how that goes…
I finished the first draft of my book, Home With Humans at the end of December 2024.
It was given to my editor, to whom I am very grateful for, and then returned to me to accept or reject the edits.
I’m in the modify stage of edits and critical thinking.
The process to look through my eyes, through another person’s eyes, is deeply introspective. I learn so much about me, my writing, and life in general when I immerse myself within another person’s perspective.
Feedback in the writing process is my favorite stage. At least for right now.
Below is a section I played with for about an hour. I laugh, as this is why I’m only on page 29 of 119. To edit is deeply meditative for me, and my favorite part of the publishing process, at least it was yesterday.
My edits are due on Saturday. I laugh again.
I’m curious to gain new perspectives. Please comment on my comparison of informed vs un-informed learning.
Enjoy!
To create a formed idea, or to be informed, is to consider more than one perspective on a given topic. It’s to expand the mind beyond an initial reaction to respond with, no it’s not, when a novel idea is introduced.
Types of Learning
Informed – To consider more than one perspective, tell me more
Un-Informed – To consider only one perspective, no it’s not
When a triangle of thought forms in my mind, it often takes the shape of my own unique perspective, and the unique perspectives of two additional sources.
This mental exercise to expand thinking beyond an initial thought, helps me peel back hidden layers of knowledge, and further understand what’s being explored.
Informed Learning - Education
To be informed, is to build triangles.
To build triangles, is to be informed.
To be informed, is to hold knowledge.
To build triangles of informed knowledge, is to be educated.
Un-Informed Learning - Manipulation
To be un-informed, is to assume.
To assume, is to be un-informed.
To be un-informed, is to trust a single perspective.
To assume reality comes from one perspective, is to be manipulated.
When I free flow my thoughts to record a podcast episode, I feel a deep sense of connection with the audience I don’t yet have.
I chuckle.
Time is not linear as my human would have me to believe. As my ego reminds me.
My goal is to produce and contribute to informed learning. To present a unique perspective, one of three for a listener to build a triangle of thought.
I feel called to contribute to the critical thinking process of those who are interested. To share my ideas, and then let each individual come to their own conclusion in terms of truth value.
Is my value,
in my truth?
What is my truth, given the infinite number of triangles in my mind?
How can I quantify a true reality, given I’m both a human and a soul, entities with two vastly different foundations of truth.
Two different sets of rules govern the physics I adhere to.
Earth physics, human physics, gravity.
Galactic physics, soul physics, magic.
Time, space, energy, matter.
What are these to a human soul?
An entity with dual citizenship within here and there, Earth and beyond?

Wow Lynn, there’s a lot here! Here are a couple ideas this sparked for me:
The idea of triangles. Triangles are interesting because they are inherently stable. The three sides support one another. What is it about the geometry (sacred?) to appreciate about triangles?
The physics of universe is such a fascinating topic. I keep going back to how Newtonian physics made the universe seem like a beautiful, elegant, predictable machine. And yet as we continued to delved into the nature of matter and forces we’ve discovered that our reality is full of crazy, quanta whose behavior is mysterious and unpredictable. And yet all of these Parts continue to play together in beautiful ways.
Something too about being open to new ways of understanding things. Interesting that human beings seem to live in a tension of on the one hand wanting to explore, be curious, and discover. And the other tension is a need to control, have predictability, and certainty.
It’s a really fascinating tension isn’t it and the tension is constantly changing depending on context, the particular person, etc.
What do you think contributes to a person’s ability to remain open to possibilities? Or to open someone up to possibilities?
This is a very thought provoking piece! I love it. 💗✨
In reading through your “Informed Learning - Education” thoughts, it sparked a recall of a quote I had heard first through an old Bob Proctor Seminar. He shared this:
“An educated man is the one who can entertain a new idea, entertain another person, and entertain himself.” Sydney Herbert Wood
It stuck with me then, and through your thoughts, continues to do so. I believe that hosting and inviting perspective allows for the forming of wisdom.
Effective hiring of humans (through my 55k hours of interviewing) was only possible by doing so. Hiring and searching for others successfully can only come through opening and allowing multiple perspectives. If we’re closed, the same results continue. Opening up allowed evolution and discovery and growth, for our teams and ourselves. It’s all echoing what you’re sharing 💗
I love your thought processes and will continue to meditate on them. 🙏✨
